Today’s Scripture: John 14:17, NLT- “He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you.”
No matter where we are or where we are going, we can live with the Holy Spirit of God. We are at home with God. When we come to recognize Him and know Him, there is no safer place. No matter where we are in the whirlwinds of our lives there is one reassuring constant. The Spirit of truth lives within us.
Whether the burdens and stresses of life are piled above our heads or the weights of worry rest upon us, true rest is found as we turn to the Spirit of God. In our life’s travels we are never alone when we turn to the LORD. As Jesus was preparing His apostles here in John 14 for His earthly exit, He was reassuring them they are never alone in this world or the next.
Thank You Jesus for going to prepare a place for us as you promised in John 14:3. Even more so, thank You for reassuring us in John 14:7 that the more we get to know You the more we know the Father and His Spirit. The more we bow before the LORD and lay our lives before Him, the more we recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit.
When our hearts are turned to our Creator, the more we are at home in His creation. When our hearts are turned to Him, we are eternally experiencing the comforts of home. When filled with the Spirit, our fragile houses become a heartwarming home of God’s creation.
Seven hundred years before Jesus’s ministry on earth Isaiah was at home with God and prophesied in Isaiah 40:3 that John the Baptist would introduce us to Jesus and Jesus would clear our way to the LORD as if it was a highway. The true highway to heaven.
God fills in the valleys, and levels the mountains and hills of life. He straightens the curves and smooths out the rough places of our lives with the filling of His Spirit as promised in Isaiah 40:4. He has made this so simple and natural once we step out of the traffic of life to simply accept and know His Spirit of truth.
No mountain is too high nor valley too low where our God is not present with us. As we lay everything at His feet we feel His powerful Spirit. We come to know Him. The Spirit of God removes all fear and provides all the comforts of home. Peace, love, and prayer is where the Father is.
Are you thankful that God lives with you?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son Jesus and for Your Spirit of truth that lives with us. Fill us now LORD. Help us to know and turn to You more and more. I praise and thank You Father God for desiring to live with us. I only desire to live with You. In You I am at home in my Father’s house. Amen.
