Today’s Scripture: Psalm 139:16, KJB- “Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.”
Today is a big day. God planned this day for us before we were even born. With the crush of worldly responsibilities and whirlwinds of activities it is not easy to stop and look to God and pray to live His plan for us today.
When David wrote this for us, he knew such knowledge is too wonderful and too high for us to understand as he stated in Psalm 139:6. We cannot understand how God has planned our every day, but we must trust that He has.
As our days mount, we all face tragedies and victories that make no sense. Why in the world God would You plan that? The King James Bible translation made me perceive God’s plan in an unusual way today. We have read translations of Psalm 139:16 that refer to our unformed bodies in our mother’s wombs. This translation referred to us as unperfect. Just as we were being perfected in the womb we are continuing to be perfected today.
God knows us. As David wrote in Psalm 139:23, we can pause and welcome God into our day, today, and ask Him to “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” (NIV) In the next verse, David asked God to lead him in the everlasting way.
As we welcome God into our anxieties and lack of understanding we can trust in His way that is everlasting. We can find peace in trusting that God has already planned this and every day. Whatever happens today, God is perfecting us and this world to serve His perfect plan.
LORD, I am looking to You today. Open my eyes, mind, and soul to Your plan. Perfect me Father God. I am trusting in Your wonderful and perfect ways.
Will we live God’s plan for us today amid the plans this world is laying upon us?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, You know Your plan for us today. Fill our spirits with Your Spirit. Forgive us for the days we have not sought Your plan. Your ways are too wonderful for us to understand, but they are perfect. Guide us and direct us now and show us Your way. Perfect us in Your everlasting ways today. Amen.
