Today’s Scripture: Job 28:23, NLT- “God alone understands the way to wisdom; he knows where it can be found,”
I am thankful that God understands the way to wisdom, and I do not need to know because God knows. As we seek God, we find wisdom and understanding, not our own but His.
I find great peace and power in trusting God, His Wisdom, and His Spirit. God’s synchronicity is beyond our understanding. “Chance” encounters in life can and will be orchestrated by our God who understands the way and knows where wisdom can be found.
As Job instructs us in Job 28:28, “And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’” (NLT) When we fear God first and foremost, we find the way to wisdom and understanding. We must not waste time and energy seeking wisdom and understanding in hopes of finding God or gold.
in Job 28:20, Job asked “Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?” We too ask these questions when all our wisdom, understanding, strength, and hopes have been stripped away. When we are at the end or our ropes, at the bottom of our miseries we are in the position to fear God over all other things and seek His understanding.
The treasures of God cannot be purchased with the treasures of this earth. They are purchased with fearing Him. As Job answered his own question in Job 28: 12-13, “But where can wisdom be found? Where does understanding dwell? No mortal comprehends its worth; it cannot be found in the land of the living.”
You and I are much like the earth as Job shared with us in Job 28:5, we are both transformed by the fires of life. As Job 28:3 points out just as humankind has mined for riches, the riches of God are often found in the deepest and darkest places. When all else is seemingly gone, this is where we find the power of God.
We do not have to wait until we are consumed and have lost everything. Nor do we have to wait, as Job states in Job 26:14, to wait until we understand the thunder of God’s power. We will never understand no matter how long we wait. Yet, we have access to the understanding of the Almighty now.
Will you accept and receive God’s understanding over your own today? Fear Him.
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, thank You for Your wisdom and understanding. Without You LORD, we cannot find. Thank You Father God for showing us the way to Your treasures. Help us to understand how to properly fear You. Help us to know the treasures of Christ, found in Your word, received by faith, and orchestrated through Your Holy Spirit. Show us now Your way. Amen.
