Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 42:16, KJB- “And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.”
Do you believe that the LORD leads you today? Really, do you have faith that the Creator of the universe could take you somewhere today you do not even know? Do you think that God is that intimately involved in your life?
We have lots of questions and we can be so blind to God’s ways. People cross our paths, words are spoken, events are witnessed. We can chalk up to coincidence many unusual happenstances. The world will always rationalize God and His leadings. The non-believers will scoff at God and His ways until God opens their blind eyes.
I confess that I am still blind in so many ways. Blind and yet the LORD leads me. At times, I am blind even though I think I can see. Sometimes I must stop and gather my thoughts as I realize God has just arranged something mysterious. In fact, God has shown out and coordinated many crazy, you cannot make this stuff up type of coincidences that He has removed all doubt from me. Do I understand? No. Do I doubt God? No. I have found Isaiah 42:21 to be true, that the LORD makes His law great and glorious. He provides glorious surprises.
Do you believe God can and will guide you? Do you have a story of where God has taken you from darkness into light? God has taken me from my dark world of alcohol addiction to the bright lights in His Word. Would I be seeing these affirmations in such light if I had not come from such darkness? How about you? Has the LORD made some of your rough places smooth and some of your crooked ways straight? Where are you going now?
As Isaiah said to the Israelites, he speaks to us in Isaiah 42:23, BSB- “Who among you will pay attention to this? Who will listen and obey hereafter?” Are we paying attention and being obedient to where our God is leading us?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for leading the blind and deaf. Open our eyes and ears to Your glorious ways. Thank You for making our darkness light before us. Thank You for making our ways straight. We are trusting You to lead us to ways we do not yet know. Help us to pay attention and obey Your ways. Amen.
