Thank You LORD for helping and saving us.

Today’s Scripture: Psalm 40:17, NLT- “As for me, since I am poor and needy, let the Lord keep me in his thoughts. You are my helper and my savior. O my God, do not delay.”

David knew troubles and God’s deliverance. We are all poor and needy at times if we are honest. However, David also experienced a salvation we can experience. As mind-blowing as it is, David shared with us in Psalm 40:1 that God “inclined to him”. We speak of leaning into people and conversations in life, but can you imagine God turning and leaning into you and your immediate needs?

David asked God to come quickly, and we can too. Immediate attention from God at times is exactly what we need but we struggle to know, see, or acknowledge His help. I really cannot imagine the Creator of the Universe, the almighty God, turning to pay me and my problems attention but we see here in Psalm 40 that He does.

Like David in Psalm 40:1, we must wait patiently. But we are assured that our helper and savior will lift us out of our horrible circumstances and muddy situations as David experienced in Psalm 40:2. God does bring us out of these situations and sets our feet on solid ground and directs our next steps.

As Psalm 40:3 states, He puts a new song in mouths. When we sing our new songs of praising God for Him lifting us out of our miry pits we offer hope to others, so they see what He has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the LORD too.

We can trust that God is helping and saving us. We are blessed when we live in the knowledge of His saving grace. We live confidently and securely in the peace of relying on God to save us. We can keep moving forward knowing He is the security beneath our feet.

Like David in Psalm 40:5, we cannot tell of all the wondrous works our God has done for us as there is no end to them. We can receive His Words into our hearts, which, in turn gives us great delight in doing God’s will as David shared in Psalm 40:8.

You and I can tell others of God’s faithfulness and saving power. We can continually thank the LORD for His love and faithfulness in always protecting us. God does turn and pay attention to our many troubles, and He will help and save us. Will we turn to Him and ask for and acknowledge His help towards us?

Today’s Prayer: Thank You God for helping and saving us. I am praying many will see what you have done and be amazed so that they too will put their trust in You. Thank You O LORD, my God for the many wonders You have done. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is written within my heart. Thank You LORD for Your tender mercies, Your lovingkindness and truths that continually protect us. Thank You LORD for saving us from our many troubles. In You we trust. Amen.
