Today’s Scripture: Luke 8:39, NKJV- ““Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.”
The story of Legion is one most of us remember. I recall a time that somehow God had me in Mark chapter 5 and Luke chapter 8 within a couple of days where I read about this man that recognized and ran up to Jesus and was full of many demons. The demons recognized Jesus and Legion ran up to Him and fell at His feet.
Whatever our afflictions or evils are, the power of Jesus will cleanse us when we run to him and fall at his feet. After his cleansing, the man called Legion begged to go with Jesus where He was going. However, Jesus had other plans where he could be most effective. Instead of leaving all behind, he told Legion to go back to his own house and tell what great things God has done for him.
We can each do that too. For those of us who have been forgiven much we can go back and let our family and friends know what great things God has done for us. Through my years of recovery, I remember most the opportunities I have had and continue to have for sharing what Jesus has done for me, more than I remember my afflictions. I am writing to you and anyone needing to hear today, that Jesus is our healer and we can run to Him.
We find healing with Jesus. Later in Luke 8:47 the lady who had been bleeding for twelve years was healed instantly when she touched Jesus’ clothing. The power was not in the clothing but in her belief that if she could only touch His garment she would be healed. In Luke 8:48, Jesus told this woman that her faith had healed her.
We can have this faith as well. When we do find our healing, we can go in peace and tell of the great things Jesus has done for us. Many people gathered around Jesus that day, but He felt His power flow to her because of her faith. We can have this kind of faith.
As Jesus instructed Jairus in Luke 8:50, when we believe stronger than we fear, we come to know the healing of Jesus. We can then share what we have received. When we share what Jesus has done for us, we can tell our stories not only from a place of faith and belief but of a place of knowledge. When we share what Jesus has done for us this gives others the power to believe and trust in the healing power of Jesus.
We must first share this in our own homes and among our people. As we tell our stories of the great things that God has done for us, others too will run to Him and be saved. Are you telling your story, or do you need to run and fall at Jesus’ feet?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am thankful for those who have told me their stories of healing. I am thankful for the power of faith and believing in You. LORD, You are our healer and I am praying my story will bring healing to others. Help me LORD to choose faith over fear always. We are strengthened by the healing of Jesus, and we can help spread His power through the power of believing. Use our stories LORD to bring others to the feet of Jesus. Amen.
