Today’s Scripture: Colossians 1:27, NLT- “For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.”
You just cannot make this God stuff up. God’s timing and His living word are awe inspiring. Agnostics and atheists may debate our scriptures, but they cannot debate our experiences. Over the past fifteen years I cannot tell you how many times I have exclaimed, out loud, “God this is CRAZY.” The hundreds, if not thousands, of timely “coincidences” I have experienced with God and His Word have removed all doubt from me. I may not fully grasp God and His Word, but I now have no doubt that He lives in us.
The evidence for God is experiential. The effectiveness of affirmations is also experiential. My hopes and experiences with “positive” affirmations were totally humanistic and selfish but were nonetheless effective. However, the bar was set low due to my human understanding. When we are affirming God’s character and commands, Heaven is the limit. With no end of hope or promise the creator and sustainer of all things without limits has His Spirit living inside of us.
I am still learning more and more about God and how affirming His Word takes us from personal growth affirmations to Godly growth affirmations. Instead of ending up where we think we want to be we end up where the Almighty God ordered us to be. Instead of building our own kingdom we constantly affirm to be our part of God’s kingdom. As Hebrews 4:12, NKJV states “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
This is deeper than we can grasp. As humans’ I am not sure we have the ability to understand how living and powerful God’s Word is.
Satan does his best to distract us, even with success, so we miss the intimacy of God. We can be too busy achieving goals and dreams to be still and receive the Word and Spirit of God directing our souls and spirits.
I have found that the Holy Spirit guides us in seemingly random ways. So random that we are surprised, maybe even shocked, when we recognize that once again, God has us in the place He wanted us all along and we thought we were in control. Hebrews 4:13 reminds us that nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. We can be confident as Hebrews 4:16 promises that we can come boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace and help in our times of need.
Colossians 1:5 states that we have hope laid up for us in heaven. Colossians 1:9- reminds us to pray to be filled with the knowledge of God’s wisdom and spiritual understanding; so, we may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. We grow daily when we go to God’s Word daily. As Colossians 1:13 reminds us God delivers us from the power of darkness.
Can we grasp Colossians 1:15 where we were told Christ was in the image of an invisible God? Invisible and sharper than a two-edged sword cutting into our innermost sanctuaries. We were and are being created by this invisible God. We must remember Colossians 1:23 where we are reminded to not be moved from the gospel. There is not other secret. We must not be distracted even from our own wants and dreams. Although God is mysterious, He has made us to know the riches of the glory.
God’s riches far exceed any riches we can desire. Christ living in us is rich and powerful. Will you let God squeeze in between your spirit and soul today?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the riches of Your love towards us. Thank You for Your Son and Spirit Who live inside of us. Please give us the spiritual eyes and ears to see, hear, and experience You. My hopes and dreams are in You LORD. Please guide and direct me wherever You desire me to be in Your Kingdom today. Thank You for the treasures of Your Word. I am praying to receive and live by Your Holy Spirit today. In the name of Jesus, who left us this Helper, Amen.
