Today’s Scripture: Philippians 1:6, NASB- “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.”
In Philippians 1:2, Paul and Timothy shared that grace and peace are found in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. As we give thanks to God in all things, we know the joy of God. The more we are thankful to God and Jesus in everything, the more we find confidence.
I am confident that the glow in the eastern sky will soon become a sunrise. I am confident that I have nothing to do with the orchestration of God’s beauty. I am confident that God does what we cannot do.
Just as Paul, I am confident that God, who has begun a work in us will complete it. Writing his letter from prison, Paul had grace, peace, joy, and confidence. Not because of his circumstances but because of who God is. I am confident that it is God who will complete His good works through us and our circumstances.
When we focus on the day, we aim too low. When we focus on God and His plans, we can be confident that regardless of what we see now God’s beauty is breaking through the darkness. I am praying with joy for the wonderful things God has done. As I listen to the birds lifting their voices in the morning, I do pray God gets the same pleasures from our lifted voices.
We can sing confidently to the LORD because we are sharing in His grace. The LORD teaches us how to love as Jesus loved. We can love confidently knowing it is the LORD who finishes His work in each of us. It is God who can help us live pure and blameless lives. Because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ, we can glorify and praise God confidently.
Like Paul in Philippians 1:12, we can be confident that everything that has happened to us will be used to further the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are walking miracles of the grace and power of Jesus. It will become clear to all around us that only God could do such things through us. I am confident it is God who creates beauty from our darkness.
As stated in Philippians 1:14, we can be confident my brothers and sisters to proclaim the gospel of what God has done without fear. We share out of the love we have received and witnessed. Because God first loved us, we can love. We can rejoice as Paul does in Philippians 1:18 because Christ is preached though our lives of grace.
We can be confident that the Spirit of Jesus Christ is at work. We can be confident that Christ will be magnified and exalted in our life stories. We are changed and impactful because of who God is and not who we are or have been. We can live for Christ confidently trusting in His good works being completed. It has already been proven that this world cannot stop Jesus, we can be confident in that.
Christ has risen to raise us up so others too may know Him. We can live boldly today because we have become convinced that only God can complete the works in this world as He is completing His works in us. Are you confident in God?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, listen for our voices of joy in Your grace and peace. Thank You for Your power and love that guarantees the completion of Your works in us. Work in us LORD to reveal Jesus Christ. Make it obvious to all others that You are with us. Please take our circumstances and glorify Your power and promise. In You LORD, I am confident. In You LORD, I know grace and love. Shine Your light through us today. Amen.
