Today’s Scripture: Psalm 36:9, KJB- “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.”
I am thankful to have God above all the evil of humankind that rise to the top of power. I am thankful we can look beyond the deceit and wickedness. Even in David’s time we see there are those who are committed to a sinful course.
Thankfully, we have God who is all powerful and above human efforts. Psalm 36:5 reminds us that “Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” (NIV) God is above the fray of life. The power of humankind is no match.
It is God who loves and protects us. In Psalm 36:6 we are told “Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.” Our hope is in the LORD.
God’s lovingkindness and mercy are our safe place. We can cuddle up under the shadows of His wings. It is comforting to know we can be abundantly satisfied by God’s abundance promised in Psalm 36:8. God’s power and abundance is forever.
God’s river is continually flowing, and we can drink and take our daily bread from Him. I love David’s heart in Psalm 36:9. I can feel God’s fountain of life and I can see His light. I am thankful to be able to experience this every day as I come to him in prayer. When we come to God daily we come to know Him and experience His fountain of life.
Regardless of what is going on in the world around us, we can come to the fountain of life and experience the abundance of God. I know of no better way to start our day than to humble ourselves before God and thank Him for His fountain of life and for us to partake of His river of life and His daily bread.
Are you willing to invest some time with God to experience His fountain of life and to see His light?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty Father, thank You for Your power, love, and faithfulness. I find life and joy in Your abundance and in Your rivers of delight. LORD, keep me coming to your river daily to receive Your daily bread of life to protect against the hands of evil. Help those of us who have experienced Your fountain and light to share this joyful and comforting experience with others, so they too may feast upon Your abundance. Amen.
