Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:7, NIV- “I wish that all of you were as I am. But each of you has your own gift from God; one has this gift, another has that.”
Paul walked with Jesus. Paul wrote over 20% of the New Testament from the prompting of the Holy Spirit and of his life experiences with Jesus. Yet, he was humble to recognize that we are not Paul and we were never designed by God to be Paul.
We were designed and gifted to be ourselves. God and His power has gifted each one of us with our own gifts. Unfortunately, the world and the ruler of this world do everything in their power to rob, steal, and destroy our use of our gifts. We can be ridiculed and questioned from even those we love to get back in line with societal norms.
However, God created you to be you. God created me to be me. Many times, we find God in our hardships of life. Our darkest places are where we most often see the light of God. In desperation we throw aside the thoughts and cares of others and come to know God’s love and gifts.
We can trust God with our relationships and our lives. God has laws to protect us from ourselves. God’s laws are to help us live in peace as stated in 1 Corinthians 7:14. In 1 Corinthians 7:17 Paul instructs us to live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to us.
We have an assignment and a gift and they are only found in God. When everything else is stripped away God remains. Most times, we have to reach this place of crisis before we clearly see, hear, and know God. Knowing God and keeping His commands are what count. The dead-ends of life many times put us at the feet of God.
We are not to be slaves of human beings but slaves of Christ. We are responsible to God to be who God created us to be. We can trust our LORD to be faithful and we should be faithful to use our gifts for Him. When we turn to God and His Word, we find our true selves.
Our most important relationship is with God. We must devote ourselves to God and use the gifts He has given us. We should be confident and bold in our gifts that no one else in the world has them. We must live out our gifts.
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for our unique gifts. Just as our unique fingerprints, You have created each of us uniquely. Thank You for weaving us into Your masterpiece. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit so we are confident in who we are. Thank You LORD for being trustworthy. Help us to be trustworthy to You. Use our gifts LORD for Your glory and purposes. Amen.
