Today’s Scripture: Galatians 5:25, KJV- “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
LORD, I do want to live and walk in Your Spirit. As I have worked through the Biblical comparisons of the twelve steps of Celebrate Recovery, I am reminded that step twelve’s Galatians 6:1 has always rubbed me the wrong way.
Translations do change the way I receive Galatians 6:1. The Living Bible that is used by CR refers to “you who are godly” But the one I always hear in my mind is the translation “you who are spiritual”
Affirming “I am godly” or “I am spiritual” just feels arrogant and too far from reality. This morning, as I thought to ask God to help me, I was convicted to simply do it. Live and walk with the Spirit the best I know how and trust Him to help keep me there.
What helps you walk in the Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Son and Your Spirit. I am humbling myself before You in hopes of living and walking in and from Your Spirit, LORD. I want to live and walk with Your Spirit who prays for me. I want to walk with You always. My confidence is in You LORD and not in me. Help me walk and live in Your Spirit always. Amen
