Today’s Scripture: James 1:5, TLB- “If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask him, and he will gladly tell you, for he is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask him; he will not resent it.”
What good is affirmation without action? Instead of talking about doing, how about doing?
I do want to know what God wants me to do, don’t You? If you do not know what God wants you to do, will you ask with me now? He is always ready to answer but are we always wanting to know and act? Do you mean right now God?
In many areas of my life, I fail to act, but I learned many years ago that it is much better to pray with someone, at once, than to say I will pray and immediately forget it. There is no time like the present to act. There will be no more time later. For a perfectionist and the procrastinator in me this is terrifying at times.
However, if we want to be and do as God wants, shouldn’t that start right now? Are we asking?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I am praising and thanking You now for Your bountiful supply of wisdom. I am asking You for the wisdom to act and do, right now, what You want me to do. I am a servant of You and our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You for the trials that bring me to You. I have found pure joy in You and doing the things You instruct me to do. Thank You for testing my faith and teaching me patience and perseverance. Perfect me to complete Your plan. I believe You now and have no doubt You are at work in me. I am expecting to receive Your direction and wisdom now. Please help me to complete Your work before I pass. Make Your desires my desires. I love You LORD. Amen.
