Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 62:4, NLT- “Never again will you be called “The Forsaken City” or “The Desolate Land.” Your new name will be “The City of God’s Delight” and “The Bride of God,” for the LORD delights in you and will claim you as his bride.”
The Spirit of God came to Isaiah and comes to us because He delights in us.
I am sure Isaiah was just like you and me in feeling inadequate and unworthy. Our worthiness is not based on our past or our present, but it is based in welcoming the LORD and His message to us.
How encouraging it is to know that God delights in us: already, right now. In Isaiah 62:7 the people of Israel were instructed to give God no rest; to constantly go to Him until He makes them a praise in the earth.
Let us give God no rest from our constant thanksgivings of His delight in us and our call to be a praise to Him in the earth. He will send His Spirit to us because He delights in us.
God delights in you, are you thankful and ready to be a praise?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for coming to us. Thank You for delighting in us. LORD, I pray You constantly hear my voice of praise and thanksgiving to You for Your delight in me. Forgive me when I fail to remember Your delight or seek to be Your praise. LORD, please make me a praise to You in this earth. I delight in You. Amen.
