Today’s Scripture: Judges 2:12 NIV: They forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They provoked the LORD to anger
The purpose of these affirmations is for us to continue to imprint the nature and the character of God into our hearts. We can learn from our errors and the errors of others, right?
We must be careful not to follow after the various gods of the people around us as well as following after our natural tendencies. Like the people we read about in Judges we are a stubborn people.
We can quickly forget what the LORD has done for us. We can quickly turn away from His promises and seek the immediate gratification of our flesh and our surroundings. We have a choice today and every day. Do we decide to stay with the LORD and seek Him or do we follow and worship other gods. Let us remember that just as in the times of the Judges that the LORD is with us. The LORD goes before us and the LORD is peace. What do you do to keep the LORD above all other gods?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, I believe You are with me as You have promised. I will obey Your voice. Thank You for hearing my cries and for going before me to defeat my enemies. I offer myself willingly to You LORD and thank You for placing Your Spirit upon me. LORD You alone rule over me and I choose to only follow and worship You. LORD clothe me in Your Spirit and instruct me on how I am to live my life and my mission. Amen
