Today’s Scripture: John 14:20, NIV- “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
Jesus was preparing His disciples for when He was physically leaving this earth. Jesus was also preparing our spirits for the Spirit of God. We are prepared.
Just as in that day when it was difficult for the disciples, who were with Jesus in the flesh, to imagine and grasp what He was speaking to them, we too must move beyond the flesh. Living and loving on another level. We can and must rise above the fray of life.
When we are alone with Jesus in the dark and seeking to see and know Him, we do find Him. Away from the noises of life but in quiet moments when we seek our Heavenly Father we find the Comforter that Jesus promised us in John 14:26. “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (NKJV)
We may not have the right words to explain or understand this dimension, but we can know it. Depending on the translation, the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit is referred to as our Comforter, Helper, Advocate, and Redeemer.
We are easily distracted by the demands and attractions of the flesh. However, alone with God we are reminded of Who He is and all His promises to us. As John 14:20 promised, on those days when we seek God the Father, we come to find and know that Jesus is in Him, we are in Jesus, and Jesus is in us.
Thank You Jesus for leaving us the Holy Spirit the welcomes You inside of us. In this place Lord we do experience Your words of John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (NKJV)
When we feel our hearts are troubled or afraid, we can turn to the refuge of God. Jesus in Him, us in Jesus, and Jesus in us. It is in this place and in these times, we come to know the Comforter. Our Comforter and r Helper opens our eyes to what God desires to remind us of each day in our Holy Bible.
As John 15:7 promises, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (NKJV). Jesus I am asking for Your words of John 15:8 to be done. That our Father is glorified, that we bear much fruit and that we prove to be Your disciples.
Thank You Jesus for being in us and help us live in You today.
Today’s Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, we are praying that You are glorified today and that we bear much fruit for Your kingdom. We are asking for Your Holy Spirit to help us prove to be Your disciples. Thank You Jesus for setting the example for us. Thank You Lord Jesus for giving us the new command to love one another. Help us Holy Spirit to live in Jesus’ love and bear the fruit’s that glorify God the Father. Jesus, please live in us and us in You. Amen.
