Today’s Scripture: Acts 19:11, NKJV- “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,”
God can work miracles through us that we are not even aware. In Acts 19:12 we are told that “When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.” (NLT) Paul was not even aware of where these articles had traveled.
Acts 19:8-10, we are told that Paul spent the previous two years reasoning and persuading others about the things of the kingdom of God. In this time all the Jews and Greeks in the province of Asia had heard the word of the Lord Jesus. We may find ourselves in challenging conversations as well.
We also find unusual miracles that occur when we are working to share God’s word. We can trust God to do His miracles whether we are aware or not. Our words and our works will be met with unusual coincidences, serendipities, and extraordinary miracles of God. We do not need to concern ourselves with these things because God works them and not us.
God puts us in the positions and with the people He intends for the miracles of the heart to take place. One kind smile or word can make a world of difference in a world devoid of the word of our Lord Jesus. We must only have our eyes and hearts open, and our minds and lips prepared with the Spirit and word of the Lord. As Ephesians 6:17 instructs us to be prepared with the Armor or God, the word of God will be our sword of the Spirit.
God will use us to cut through and into some miraculous places we cannot anticipate. Suddenly, in a flash, God can present Himself and His ways in miraculous circumstances and times. None of which are any of our doings outside of simply being faithful to share God’s Word.
Not unlike the evil spirit in Acts 19:15, we can expect to be challenged by those who ask, “who are you?” Who am I? I am an unusual miracle changed by the hand and word of Jesus. As in Acts 19 a single act with one person can change many. Evil spirits can be forced out in the name of Jesus. This is the way the word of the Lord spreads widely and grows in power just as it did in Acts 19:20.
Sometimes the Word we ae sharing can cause a commotion about the Way as it did in Acts 19:23. God will intervene with unusual people and miracles to protect us. We must continue to go and share the word of our Lord Jesus because it is The Way.
Will we share the word of the Lord Jesus and God’s Way today?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, we praise You for Jesus Christ and Your Holy Spirit. Help us to share the word of the Lord Jesus today. Thank You for Your miracles whether we are aware of them or not. Use us LORD, one person at a time, to help spread Your Way and Word. In Your name Father God, we chare the word of our Lord Jesus. Work Your miracles through us Lord. Protect us and prosper us to bring more people to You. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, we do pray. Amen.
