Today’s Scripture: John 14:11, NIV- “Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves.”
Do we believe Jesus or not? Although I came to John 14 this morning only to read up to an affirmation, I had captured years ago in John 16, it was impressed upon me that not only has Jesus gone to prepare a place for us with the Father as He promised in John 14:2 but He also had come down to earth to prepare us for this place.
Will we live today in gratitude that Jesus came to teach us the way to live for the Father now. Jesus gave Himself up for us so we can live like Him and for Him. In John 14:12, Jesus told His apostles and us that if we believe in Him, we will do the works He was doing and even greater things. Do you believe it?
What are the greater things we can do today? Firstly, we must continue the works of Jesus that He was doing as He walked this earth. The land that Jesus walked is now enraged in another battle. Will we live and look to Jesus and the Father during these times? Will we cry out to the Father for His will to be done?
There is a war going on for our souls today. Will we fight on our own power or will we trust and cry out for the power of God. Will we do what Jesus was doing? In John 14:13, Jesus promised that He would do whatever we asked in His name. Jesus, I am asking that God the Father will be glorified in our modern-day battles. I am asking that we live as You did Lord Jesus, and we will do the greater things as You envisioned them to be.
Jesus, I am believing Your promise as captured in John 14:14 that if we ask anything in Your name You will do it. I am asking that God the Father is glorified today and that Your followers will be proven to do even greater things in Your name. Help us to change the world and the hearts of all people to see God in all His glory. Show Yourself today Father God in the face of the failures of humankind.
Jesus gave us the way to victory here on earth in John 14:15-19, “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also.”
We can choose to live with the comforter, the Holy Spirit of God, today. We can live and believe what Jesus said in John 14:20, “On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.” Today, I realize and recognize that You are in Your Father, I am in You, and You are in me.
Because You are in me Christ Jesus, I can do greater things. Greater things this world cannot see because they cannot see You. Help us LORD to help all others see You and know they can receive You and Your love as You taught us. I believe You Jesus.
Will you live with and believe Jesus today in your greater things?
Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to keep Your commands today as I love You more than myself. I am thankful that You promised me the love of Your Father. Thank You Jesus for first loving us and giving yourself up for us. I am asking that You manifest Yourself to us and this current world. I am praying now Lord Jesus that You and Your Father come and make Your home in me. Holy Spirit, please teach me to love and live as Jesus and remind me of everything Jesus said to us while He was still on this earth. I am crying out for Your comfort and Your help now. I am welcoming and living in Your peace. I believe. Amen.
