We find rest in knowing the LORD gives this world order and He holds us together with His Spirit.

Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 34:16, NIV- “Look in the scroll of the LORD and read: None of these will be missing, not one will lack her mate. For it is his mouth that has given the order, and his Spirit will gather them together.”

We find rest and confidence when we read the book of the LORD. We find repeated reminders that it is the LORD who determines the order of this world, and His Spirit holds it together. Isaiah 34 and 35 share how nature, the animals and the people find our way and our rest because of God.

Humankind gives us too much credit and responsibility for this earth and its condition. The God who created it continues to give it order. Worry and anxiety is a problem for those who do not read the Word of God. We can fall into this trap when we rely on ourselves.

I am thankful that the LORD does strengthen our weak hands and make firm our feeble and sometimes trembling knees as He promised in Isaiah 35:3. In the next verse, Isaiah 35:4 states “Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”” (NKJV)

Reading and trusting God’s Word removes fear and instills to only fear the LORD. Our confidence and peace are found in God’s promises. God opens our eyes and ears to His glory and provision. We are not to fall prey to those who try to take control and place responsibilities on us that are not ours. We find joy in recognizing that it is God who provides the order of this world and trusting in His Spirit to hold us together.

Isaiah 35:8 tells us there is a highway to follow and it is The way to holiness. We are not to follow the ways of humankind, especially non-believers, as they will not follow God’s way. We can be strong and confident in the LORD. If we keep reading His Word and following His Way, we will always end up in the right place.

We are promised that gladness and joy will overtake us, and that sorrow and sighing will flee away. We can choose today whether we follow the fears of humankind or trust in the order and Spirit of God. What are you choosing?

Today’s Prayer: Almighty, Creator God thank You for giving this world order and holding us together with Your Spirit. I am only following You LORD and staying off the path of fear. Thank You LORD for Your Word that guides us and reminds us of Your order. Continue to strengthen and steady us LORD as we follow Your highway of holiness. In You I trust and follow. Amen.
