Today’s Scripture: Psalm 51:10, KJB- “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
A wild horse must be broken. We must experience brokenness. David gave us Psalm 51 out of his brokenness where he found the refilling Spirit of joy. At moments, with our minds and lives racing we cannot fathom joy.
True joy comes from we cannot see and most times we cannot see it coming. Psalm 51:17- “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.” (NKJV) This is contrary to the human spirit where we are told to be strong and in control. In contrast, the true path to salvation and joy is a broken spirit.
We must give up. We must shatter or thoughts and spirits so our pride, resentments, guilts and fears pour out. Our vessels must be emptied. The restoring power of God puts us back together and He fills us with a new Spirit, the right spirit.
David was broken in Psalm 51, and he began his regeneration by praising God. We can do this too. We may not see Him or feel Him, yet we can pour out ourselves and praise Him for being God. We can stop our thoughts and sacrifice them before the presence of God. LORD, I am giving You these thoughts. Break them and fill me with Your thoughts and Your Spirit. I need You LORD to fill me now.
As God puts our broken pieces together, we only need to let go and let Him work. As His Spirit fills our spirits, we are renewed with His joy. As a breath of fresh air, we are filled. As our minds are emptied, he plants new thoughts. As our human spirits are emptied His Holy Spirit saves us with joy. We first find joy in Him and then we begin to see life with the right eyes and spirit.
Our brokenness opens the ways of God. We now can experience His salvation and joy. He will continue to sustain us as we welcome His kingdom and His will as our daily bread. He feeds us what we need, and He rebuilds us into His masterpiece.
Can you let go and sacrifice your mind and soul to receive God’s Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am praising Your name. I am silencing and sacrificing my thoughts to welcome Yours. I am welcoming Your Kingdom and will as my daily bread. Fill me LORD. Thank You for mending and rebuilding my broken pieces to be the masterpiece You intend. Fill me with Your Spirit LORD, the right spirit so I may know the fullness of Your salvation and joy. Amen
