Today’s Scripture: Mark 12:44, KJB- “For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.”
Jesus was teaching His disciples in this moment in Mark 12:43-44. While some gave out of their abundance of wealth to the treasury, this poor widow gave all she had. For such a small word, “all” takes a HUGE faith.
This widow in Mark 12 gave all she had to live on. She cast all her living to God. Was it faith or desperation? We do not know, but many of us have experienced fear and desperation. God, I am giving You all.
I am not even sure we understand what “all” means. Do we even know what we have to give? However, I believe most of us know brokenness. Brokenness is a very personal place. However, when we are in our broken places or in our abundant places will we give all to God?
LORD, I do not even know what I have but You can have it all. Do with it and me what You will. I have proven over and over that I squander all that I have, and I am trusting You, LORD, will do more with all I have. When we hold nothing back and give God all, we begin to experience all God has.
God, I need all You have as I have nothing. I, many times, sense this in moments on my knees in the morning, even this morning. Kneeling before God, I have nothing. LORD, I do not know what to say except I love You and I turn to the words Jesus gave us to pray. However, more than that, I give Him all and trust Him for my daily bread. I have mentioned many times it is so empowering when His Spirit takes over my prayers out of my bankrupt soul and His Spirit speaks for me. Yes, LORD whatever He is saying, I am giving You all of it.
Will you trust God with all?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am giving You all. I am unaware of all that I have but I am offering You all and trusting You for all. You LORD are the one true God, I have but one life and I am giving it to You. I am trusting You LORD for my living and my livelihood. I am praying to live from and with You and to be generous as You are with me. Thank You LORD, for the abundance You have given me, and I pray to give You all. For Your glory do I live. Amen.
