Today’s Scripture: 1 John 3:18, GNT- “My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action.”
Our actions show our love. John wrote, in 1 John, that he was writing to these people not because they didn’t know the truth but because they did know. We know it too, don’t we? Whether our love is for Christ, others, ourselves, or things, it shows in our actions.
Our Holy Spirit gives us knowledge of the truth. Our actions prove where our spirits are. John was writing in 1 John about the antichrists in the last days. He was reminding them and us that at the end of life the will of God lives forever while the things of this world pass away.
Our lusts for the things of this world are not of God. Our lusts are revealed in our actions. We can choose where we direct our lusts, and our actions will prove who or what we have chosen.
Who will your actions show you love today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your love and Spirit You have put in me. Forgive me Father for when I look away from Your love and fall for the love of things of this world or my selfish lusts. Increase my love for You and make my actions and deeds reveal Your love. Thank You for forgiving me. Please keep my eyes and my heart directed towards Your light Father God. I want to live in Your light and have my actions and deeds, not just my words, reveal Your light. Amen
